Host Responsibility Policy – The Fairway Lounge Whanganui Limited
The management and staff of “The Fairway Lounge Whanganui Limited” have a responsibility to provide an environment that is not only comfortable and welcoming, but where alcohol is served and consumed responsibly. Because of this, we have implemented the following host responsibility policy.
Preventing intoxication
The manager will circulate the premises looking for those intoxicated. We will not serve alcohol to a person identified as being intoxicated. We will ask that person to leave and direct them to the safe transport options (see below).
Not serve alcohol to minors
It is against the law to serve minors. All staff will ask those appearing to be under 25 years of age for identification as to age and will be trained that the only acceptable forms of ID are a passport, NZ Drivers Licence, Kiwi Access Card or HNZ R18 card.
Provide and actively promote low and non-alcohol options
We will have low alcohol (1.15%-2.5%) and non-alcohol beverages available at all times, and they will be visible at point of sale. Water will be supplied free of charge.
Provide and actively promote food
The premises will provide food, with menus available at all times, and ensure patrons are aware that food is available on request.
Arrange safe transport options
We will ensure that taxi numbers are available, and where appropriate encourage patrons to have a designated driver.

Staff training
All staff will be given training on these policies, intoxication signs and intervention techniques.

Water
Water will be available at all times free of charge.
